As an IndieGogo backer I received some special bonus items along with my Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard. The bonus items included the Acton snapback, Acton backpack and a second charger for the board. Views on the video climbed rapidly and I was contacted by many people asking me how I got my Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard early. There was even an entire Reddit Community Forum about me. Little did I know I was one of the very first backers to receive my Acton Blink S Eelectric Skateboard. This was an incredible experience. Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard, Hat & Backpack First Ride. IndieGogo Backer
After unboxing the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard I was excited and a little nervous to try it for the first time. As I looked outside at the rain pounding the ground anxiety began to rise within me. I take pride in being a good person and doing the right thing. But this night, I pushed my luck. Late that night when no one was up I snuck down to my apartment buildings parking garage. Dressed in my Acton snapback hat and with my Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard in my sweat covered palm I darted to the 3rd floor elevator in my apartment building and hit the “Garage” button once inside. Once I reached the lower level I walked quietly into the garage.
As a IndieGogo backer I invested in the product before manufacturing begun. So unlike those who order the board today I waited approximately 4 months. I was itching to ride the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard. Once entering the garage I stepped upon the Blink S. I was immediately taken back by the impressive lighting put off on all sides of the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard. I gently pressed up on the wireless remote control and felt the raw power of the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard exclaiming “OMG It’s Fast”.
Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard First Outdoor Ride Wearing Acton Snapback & Backpack
The next day the sun rose and dried the remaining moisture from the rain the night before from the ground. I was pumped to take my first outdoor ride on the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard. Little did I know I would receive a sever long lasting injury that would haunt me for weeks. I took the elevator from my third floor apartment down to the garage once more. This time my journey would start just outside the garage I had skated the night before. I jumped on my Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard and headed from my parking lot towards the next door grocery store. The grocery store is part of a mini mall that has a long smooth bending sidewalk. I was riding the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard full throttle. My skateboard days were coming back to me, only this time I didnt need to kick. It felt like this board was built for me. I maxed out the board at a rate of over 15MPH and felt the wind breeze through my hair.
On the way home is where things went south for me. The board was working incredible. It still had high battery power and was a comfortable ride. Right as I made it home and approached my driveway I flew off the board at a rate of speed I may have only felt once before in my entire life. I landed on my right arm and bounced about a foot off the ground. My GoPro camera hit the ground so hard it bounced several feet higher then I. The Acton Blink S Remote also flew out of my hand, slamming into the ground. I don’t know how long I laid on the ground, but I sure remember getting up. My body had been laying right in the entrance of my apartment buildings driveway for over 600 apartments with sliding glass doors to see. Im lucky a car didnt come speeding in. I picked up my Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard and staggered out of the driveway to the grass. I was holding the bottom of my face with my hand and stood there for several minutes in awe. Once I regained my bearings (not the boards bearings) I began searching the driveway for parts and pieces. I was missing my GoPro, my Acton Blink S Remote, two triple a batteries and the battery cover. First I found the GoPro and then I found my Acton Blink S remote. It took some time to find the batteries. Now all I needed was the battery door cover. As I looked for it I seen it fall down to my feet. It’s like it was stuck to my jacket and fell at that moment or something. Very strange.
Holy crap. My right arm had shooting pain from the shoulder all the way into the hand. I had several rocks in the skin of my palm. Somehow the GoPro had stopped filming one second before the wipe out. This seemed very strange. I picked the rocks out of my flesh and complained to my fiance about the amount of pain I was in for the next 7 to 13 days. I wasn’t even able to fully straighten my arm for the first three days. It was scary. I have since regained all control in my arm, am not suffering much pain and my hand is healing nicely.
What had I done? I couldn’t believe I went on my first ride outside on the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard and managed to mangle my body. I hadn’t skateboarded in about 6 months but have skated for companies like Original Skateboard (longboard company) in the past and had even been sponsored by RedBull for about two years. Now people I loved like my Fiance, my Mom and Mother in Law all were saying I needed to be a responsible adult and “Stay off that skateboard!”. Mom, I think not. I love you dearly, but this is my passion.
The night after my accident I had thought about what had happened for several hours. I came to the realization of a few things:
1. The Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard is an incredible device. It does exactly what it’s made to do.
2. When skateboarding on the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard you should exercise caution. Especially your first couple of rides. Take time to feel out the controls at slower speeds and be gentle with the controls when breaking.
3. Study your environment before going max speed on the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard. Take safety into account when riding on rough or bumpy surfaces and keep an eye out for artifacts that may lay in your riding trail.
Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard 2AM Parking Garage Skate Session Above City
I couldn’t keep myself off the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard. I think every real skateboarder should own one (You can pick one up at a discount rate here.). It was late night and I needed a spot to skate. About a year ago I had skated a parking garage with friends. The multiple levels of the garage would serve well to test the boards incline and decline speeds. Without any more thought about it I was on my way to a multi-level parking garage. I was eager to prove I could fully control the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard and it’s power.
As I pulled up to the parking garage I was surprised to see a gate down blocking my car. It looked like I needed to pay for my time in the parking garage. This seems fair to me. I paid and continued up the garage levels towards the top levels. The tops levels of the garage are a great place to skate for multiple reasons. One is that vehicles tend not to park on the upper levels. I want to be as little trouble to other civilians as possible. Second the upper floors have an incredible view of the city.
It was time to put the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard and my skills to the test. I started out by riding the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard up a level in the parking garage testing the overall power when going up an incline on the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard. Wow, it’s incredible how I quickly I was able to fly up the levels of the parking garage. The Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard has a great incline rate of speed. The speed was even greater on the parking garage’s declines. The smooth flooring was so perfect for skating the board was really able to get up to speed.
Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard Hill Bomb 26MPH 1AM
At this point I was feeling comfortable on the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard. I had shot over a dozen skateboard videos on the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard and all are available on this playlist: MrAlanC’s Full Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard Playlist. As I stated I was feeling very comfortable on the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard. This meant one thing, it was time for skateboard greatness! I’m talking epic GoPro views and high downhill speeds. I found a smooth trail that followed alongside the Eau Claire river. I waited for night fall to come as I anticipated going full speed down this trail and didn’t want to run into any bikers or joggers. The bike trail follows the Eau Claire river which flows to the left of it and has a deep incline at one point. It was time of a 1AM Hill Bomb which would result in speeds of 26MPH with no lighting on the bike trail accept for that put off by the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard.
Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard Truck Breaks While Grinding A Bowl. Do Not Grind With The Blink S.
By this point in time I had been riding my Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard one to two times a day. Riding the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard is the thing I looked forward to all day. I had hit dozens of spots and cruised all over town. The Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard feeds my love for adrenaline. After skating around a local stadium near the Eau Claire Skatepark it dawned upon me that the Skatepark may offer some really nice terrain to ride the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard on. I drove by in my car and was unimpressed with the dozens of people flying around the small park. I decided to go back at night when no one would be there. Once again I relied primarily on the light put off by the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard which is substantial. My intentions at the skatepark were to ride around the smooth terrain and enjoy a nightly ride. I was underwhelmed by the size of the skatepark. There was not much space to cruise. I decided the best part of the skatepark to ride with my Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard was the Bowl. The board road very nicely and I was having a great time. Then I messed up. I started doing something electric skateboards are not made to do. I began grinding the rail on the bowl.
The board handled incredible and I was having a great time on the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard. Then I shifted my 188lb’s of body weight onto one wheel in an awkward angle coming off the rail back down the side of the bowl. Before I know it I had broke the front truck on my beloved Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard. The moment I got home I reached out to Acton and being the incredible company they are they Fed-Ex’d me a brand new front truck overnight FREE for the Acton Blink S. Not only is the Acton Blink S Electric Skateboard the greatest skateboard I’ve ever ridden, the customer service is high above average. Obviously electric skateboards no matter what the brand should not be used for grinding rails and doing tricks in the skatepark. Lesson learned. It’s an incredible feeling knowing a company like Acton has your back.
